ClipKit FAQ

What is ClipKit?
ClipKit is a free desktop app for clipping livestreams into short vertical videos for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. You watch multiple Twitch and Kick streams at once without ads, clip the last moments in one press, and get a vertical video with word-timed captions and the streamer's facecam laid out by AI, in a different style for each account you post to.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. ClipKit is free.
Does ClipKit work on Windows?
Yes, on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). It also runs on Linux, and a Mac version is coming.
Is ClipKit safe?
Yes. Download it only from clipkit.net. You sign in on Twitch's, Kick's, Google's or Discord's own page, so ClipKit never sees your password. Because ClipKit is new, Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” the first time: choose More info, then Run anyway.
Does ClipKit run well on older or slower computers?
Yes. On first launch it measures your computer and picks the fastest way to render (on your graphics card when you have one) and a smaller caption model on slower computers. You can change both in Settings.
What can I clip?
Live streams on Twitch and Kick, and their VODs and clips by link. You can also paste a video from YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok and most other sites, or open video files from your computer.
Does ClipKit post to TikTok for me?
Posting to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram straight from ClipKit is coming soon. Today it renders each version into the folder you chose for that account, ready to upload.
Can I post to several accounts, each in its own style?
Yes. Give each account its own template (captions, layout, colours), and one render writes a version for each, into its own folder. Accounts with the same @handle on several platforms share one version.
Is ClipKit only for clippers?
No. It's made for clippers who post moments from other people's streams, and streamers use it the same way to turn their own streams into Shorts, TikToks and Reels.
